Lowe takes second win for the season in Cunnamulla
(Nov 15, 2011) – The race for the 2012 PBR Australia Championship is a hotly contested race between New Zealander Fraser Babbington and two times Australian Champion David Kennedy, however Chris Lowe etched himself into the competition by capturing his second Touring Pro Division win for the season.
A crowd of over 1300 converged on the John Kerr Park on Saturday to witness a quality night of bull riding. Stock Contractors always bring their very best pen to this event and the bulls always perform well, this year was no exception.
Rookie bull rider Lachlan Richardson who has been growing in confidence started the high scoring in the second section on Get Rich Quick for 85 points. Chris Lowe would match that on the Ayres’ bull Face Off. Another newcomer to the PBR tour who has been stamping his mark is Jeff Moretto. Moretto scored an 84 point ride in the third section on Hot Dogs, this by matched by Pete Farley on Danger Mouse.
Pete Farley who is based in the USA on the PBR Built Ford Tough Series is coming off a very successful World Finals and hoping to continue this good fortune through to the PBR Australia Cup Series – Tamworth Invitational later this month.
It was raining cowboys in the Championship Round until Lowe stepped up and scored an 86.5 point ride on Speed Dial. This score would hold and Lowe was presented with the unique trophy buckle for his efforts and the lion share of the $10,000 prize money on offer.
The excitement machine that is the Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Division now heads to southern New South Wales on Saturday, November 19 for stop number six on the tour. With Australia’s rankest beasts, toughest sportsmen and the edge- of-your-seat excitement of a PBR event, the PBR on the Murray is one bull-ride not to be missed. This is the PBR – toughest sport on earth.
