COUNTRY MUSIC ARTIST – SHEA FISHER
RETURNS FOR THE PBR TAMWORTH INVITATIONAL

Real life cowgirl and leading country music artist, Shea Fisher is confirmed to return to Australia to be a part of the 2011 PBR Tamworth Invitational at AELEC Arena on Saturday, November 26.
Fisher has strong ties with the PBR, her father Eddie, a former champion bull rider and PBR World Finals Qualifier moved his family to the USA when Shea was 10 as he chased his own dreams, but it was American country music that caught Sheas imagination. A champion barrel racer herself, Shea had become a huge fan of Reba McIntyre while in Australia, but her world changed when she first heard Shania Twain's music while performing in a school play in tiny Elida, New Mexico.
"I sang 'Any Man of Mine' before I even knew who Shania was," she says. "Then I bought her album, and from then on I was the kid who wound the window down and sang at the top of her lungs. I remember seeing her perform on TV and thinking, "I want to be that one day. I want to do that."
Ten years later, just 22 years old, Shea is fulfilling that dream, introducing her own brand of cutting-edge country to Australian music fans, having already racked up four #1 videos on Australia’s Country Music Channel. In between, she followed a path Reba knew well, singing the national anthem—in this case Australia's—at rodeo events, then hitting the road to pay the dues that would earn her a growing legion of fans as she polished her performing and song writing skills."
Her latest album, Shea, which debuted Top 5 in Australia, showcases an emerging artist with a clear sense of identity, combining youthful energy and a seasoned performer's way with a lyric.
"I was looking for variety," she says, "but most importantly I wanted to be singing about things I can relate to. I wanted to deal with real issues, so there are songs about young love, heartbreak, relationships, self-motivation, and one that offers a reflection on the world's problems."
Her family's trip to the U.S. expanded her horizons—besides getting hooked on music, she branded cattle and drove her first pick-up truck—and when she returned to Australia at the age of 12, it was as a singer as well as a rodeo champion.
I've been so lucky being a girl my age, being able to travel the world with my parents and now having the experience to live my dream and give it a real shot. I’m an everyday girl with a really cool job."
Apart from entertaining the crowd with her latest songs, Shea will also take on a new role, taking the audience on a journey with the TV cameras educating them on what goes on behind the scenes, doing informative interviews with the riders before and after their rides but most of all showing them an angle of the sport that they do not normally get to see.
Shea is a great female compliment to a male dominated sport, states PBR General Manager “Glen Young”, she grew up around the sport, knows the bull riders and what they go through, but more importantly she has her own unique way of conveying it to the general public as well as asking the questions that everyone wants to hear. On top of this she is a great singer and keeps the audience engaged from start to finish with her performances.
Months of work and endless hours have gone into producing the Tamworth Invitational, those who have gone before are in for something new and those who haven’t are in for an event experience like no other.
Big screens at either end of the arena will provide instant slow motion replays of each individual ride as well as taking the audience for an up close and personal look as riders get ready for the rides of their lives. In addition to this they will air the most recent PBR Promotional clips from overseas and film clips that will make every spectator more educated about the Toughest Sport on Dirt.
A full concert sound system, lighting effects and indoor pyrotechnics display will add to the theatrics; however it is the Real Men – Rank Bulls & Raw Sport that everyone comes to witness.
