The PBR Invades Hughenden Qld!
Australia’s Premier Bull Riders head for Hughenden

(August 8, 2011) – Saturday September 3rd will be a night filled with rank bulls, high scores and big wrecks as the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Tour comes to the Hughenden Racecourse for a 6.30pm showdown as the nation’s best bull riders prepare to go head to head against some of the states nastiest bucking bulls.

Hughenden will be the first event to follow on from the very successful PBR Australian Cup Series held in Brisbane, Townsville, Newcastle and Sydney during June and July.   The Southern Cross Media Hughenden PBR Touring Pro Division will showcase a top line up of bull riders from across Australia.   With only five events remaining before the PBR Australian Cup Series Tamworth Invitational, riders need to make to most of each and every stop in order to cement a position.

The event will feature 2011 Australian Champion Jock Connolly from Charters Towers; Connolly is on the verge of making the cut for the lucrative PBR Built Ford Tough Series in the USA.  2009-2010 National Champion David Kennedy will also lead the charge in Hughenden.

The PBR’s Touring Pro Division offers bull riders the opportunity to compete in PBR sanctioned events, while earning money to qualify for the PBR's Australian Cup Series and the elite Built Ford Tough World Finals in Las Vegas, NV.

Fans will also get to witness the bull power, which will be equal to the task with two of the best stock contractors in Queensland bringing their very best pen of bucking bulls.  The 2009 PBR Australian Champion Bucking Bull Wild Thing will be a certainty for the deciding Championship Round.

Richmond’s bull riding champion Darren Brandenburg has established a pen of the best bulls in the North and they will pack a punch with Evil Eyes and Big Brian set to continue their impressive form in the Championship round.

The Hughenden Racecourse gates open at 5.30pm, with bull riding from 6.30pm.  Topping off the atmosphere of this PBR extravaganza is live band 52 Pick Up who will continue the entertainment through to 1am.  Tickets are available from The Flinders Discovery Centre.

With Australia’s rankest bulls, finest bull riders, big screens and the edge-of-your-seat excitement of a PBR show, the Southern Cross Media Hughenden PBR Touring Pro Division is on bull ride not to be missed.  This is not a rodeo – this is the one and only PBR!
