BRENDON CLARK INVITATIONAL RESULTS

Brendon Clark was the star of his own show as he rode three for three in Newcastle this weekend.  Clark entered the championship round in the lead, and cemented the win scoring 88.5points on Lab Rat, the 2010 Bucking Bull of the Year. The crescendo of excitement echoed throughout the venue as Brendon celebrated him win centre arena.

Born in Morpeth, Brendon is the first rider to win six consecutive PBR sanctioned events, and the win in front of his home town crowd is just one more example of his continued strength.
Newcastle is legendary in its ability to produce some of the top professional bull riders in the country, and in fact the world. The 2011 PBR Australian Cup Series showcased a selection of 22 of the world’s best bull riders hailing from

Zane Lambert celebrated his 25th birthday with a solid second place after tying Clark’s score of 88.5 in the short round on Buck Owens and finishing the event with 256.5 points.  The top 3 was rounded out by Rothbury cowboy Jason O’Hearn who rode both long round bulls, but was unable to hang onto his bull in the championship round.

Newcastle was the 3rd of 4 stops on the 2011 BFTS schedule, which began at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on the 18th of June.  The winners of the Brendon Clark Invitational will move into the finals in Sydney this weekend and from there will have the opportunity to enter the lucrative Built Ford Tough Series tour where they will have a shot at the million dollar World Title Bonus.

Charters Towers cowboy Jock Connolly leads the Australian standings going into next week’s Australian National Finals event.  He is followed closely by Rothbury’s Jason O’Hearn who gained ground in the standings by placing 3rd in Newcastle.  The USA’s fan favourite Luke Snyder is currently holds third place in the standings, after solid rides at the first three Australian Cup Events.

PBR is not a rodeo, its heart stopping bull riding action from the time the dust is first stirred to when it settles. Complete with pyrotechnics, big screen replays, dramatic lighting displays and a pulsating sound system; this was one dirt pounding event not to be missed.

For the first time in Newcastle, patrons enhanced their PBR experience with a VIP On The Dirt Tour. This tour included the opportunity to meet the riders, contractors, judges and the bulls. Patrons also enjoyed a ‘behind the chutes’ tour with the opportunity to climb in an empty chute.
