The bulls are back in town

(May 13, 2011) George Hempenstall from Yass NSW, is no stranger when it comes to the sport of professional bull riding, his career began as a rider and he has now progressed into one of the country’s leading bull breeders and stock contractors. His name can be associated with many of the great bulls that have made their mark in this sport, one in particular being the legendary “Chainsaw”.
If it wasn’t for Hempenstall this bull may have never won so many Australian Title’s and could have ended up in someone’s hamburger as it was George who first spotted potential in Chainsaw when he went through the local saleyard purchasing him for just $185 and the career of the legendary bull began reaching international recognition as one of the greatest bucking bulls of all time.
Gentle George is one of the most liked and respected stock contractors in the business and a great supporter of major league bull riding and the PBR, his eye for a good bull has been proven time and time again and can be measured by number of great bulls he owns.
His latest star goes by the name of Lab Rat, an 800kg orange and brindle bull that George created through his genetics program in Yass, NSW. The easy to handle bull made his mark on the Professional Bull Riding scene back in 2009 when he came in as the number 2 bull in the nation, however since then the bull has gone from strength to strength and in 2010 he was voted the number 1 bull on the PBR Australia National Tour.
The one thing about George Hempenstall is that even though Lab Rat is the star bull of the moment, he has several more up and rising stars like “Hell Boy” the 2010 Amateur Rodeo Bull of the Year and “Buster” the newly crowned 2011 Southern Zone Champion Bull, so come the PBR Australian Cup Series Brendon Clark Invitational at Newcastle Entertainment Centre on Saturday July 2 and the National Finals at Acer Arena on Saturday July 9 fans can be assured the world’s best bull riders are going to be tested by the nation’s toughest bulls as George Hempenstall and his stock contractor mates combine together to deliver a pen of bulls like no other.
These are going to be two events you will not want to miss!
