Country Star Amber Lawrence to Play PBR National Finals

Country music star Amber Lawrence is set to add a feminine touch to the testosterone-fuelled excitement of the 2010 PBR National Finals at Tamworth’s Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre (AELEC) on November 26 and 27.

The 2010 PBR National Finals will pit a five of the world’s richest professional bull riders from the Built Ford Tough Series against the top twenty five riders on the PBR Australia standings in a two-night, knock-‘em-down, drag-‘em-out fight for $30,000 prize money.

In addition to this fierce battle for the major money, Australia’s top riders are waging their own personal tussles to finish atop the national standings and be crowned 2010 PBR Australia Champion.

In keeping with the PBR Australia tradition of including top-line musicians as part of the entertainment at their Cup events, Sydney-based recording artist Amber Lawrence will perform at this year’s national finals. The country music beauty will perform the national anthem prior to each night’s bull riding action, before returning to the arena at interval to treat fans to a short set of her hits.

With an EP (“I’ve Got The Blues”) and two albums (“The Mile” & “When It All Comes Down”) from which to choose a three song set, the hardest part for Amber Lawrence is going to be deciding which hits to leave out. Lawrence’s songs have received multiple award nominations at the Golden Guitar Awards, the APRA Music Awards and the Southern Star Independent Country Music Awards. Crowd favourites from her catalogue include “Good Girls”, “Don’t Do Lonely Well”, “The Mile” and “When It All Comes Down”.

With the nation’s fiercest beasts and the world’s toughest athletes combined with rock concert-style music, lighting and pyrotechnics, monster video screens for instant replays and the wall-to-wall excitement of a PBR show, the 2010 PBR National Finals is one sporting event not to be missed.
