2009 PBR Champion Bucking Bull Wild Thing is a big, athletic beast that puts in a supreme effort every time the chute gate opens. Wild Thing dominated all comers in 2009 on his way to PBR glory. With one qualified ride from six trips in 2010 and an average bull score of 45.5 Wild Thing is guaranteed to provide his own brand of bovine fireworks whenever he appears at a PBR event.

Father and Son team Bomber and Bear Baillie from Blackall Queensland campaign a truckload of bulls on the PBR tour from Townsville in the North to Tamworth in the south. We asked the Baillies for more information on this remarkable bull.

Did you breed the bull, if so what is his breeding, if not where did he come from?

He was bred by Ron Woodall & Sons from Lyons in Victoria. He is by Wild Thing out of a Ropehead Cow.

Does the bull have any special traits that set him apart from other bulls?

When he bucks he gets faster and higher the longer he is ridden.

When he’s at home he is a loner in the paddock.

What are your plans and goal for this bull in the future?

To keep bucking him at PBR events and breed with him.

Can you tell us a bit about your breeding program and your plans for the kind of bulls you would like to turn off in the future?

We have about 22 calves on the ground by him out of Black Sabbath cows.

We are also doing an AI (Artificial Insemination) program using Old Wild Thing Semen and Mud Flap (imported USA Bull semen)

What do you enjoy most about being a PBR Stock Contractor?

Going to well run bull riding events and having the best riders getting on our bulls.
