2010 PROFESSIONAL BULL RIDERS WORLD CHALLENGE
BRISBANE, QUEENSLAND

Queenslander Rowsell Dominates at Brisbane’s PBR World Challenge
Goondiwindi cowboy Jim Rowsell tonight put on a dominant display of bull riding prowess, blitzing a world-class field to take out the 2010 PBR World Challenge at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
The second stop in the three-event 2010 PBR World Challenge Series, tonight’s show packed nearly 7000 screaming bull riding fans into Brisbane’s premier entertainment venue for a night of thrills, spills and bovine busting skills.

Fans and fellow riders alike looked on in awe as Rowsell pulled out all stops to win his first ever PBR Cup event, lasting the required eight seconds on all three of his attempted bulls – the only man to do so on the night.
A magnificent 92-point ride in the championship round on Buck Owens from contractors JP Gill and Sons sealed the deal for Rowsell, who now heads the competition leading into the series’ final round at Sydney’s Acer Arena next Saturday night.
“I just want to thank the crowd,” Rowsell exclaimed in his post event interview. “It’s the best atmosphere I’ve seen all year, so a massive thanks to everyone.”
Texans Harve Stewart and Zack Brown picked up second and third place with two tough rides each. Stewart led the event running into the championship round but stumbled at the final hurdle, failing to handle the immense power of a massive beast called Zee-Force.
Veteran rider Brown, who’s chosen to drive between cities in a hired camper to see the sights of the Australian coastline, put together his best effort on Aussie soil and was pleased to finally get some ridden down under.
Father and son stock contracting team Trevor and Tony Dunne (Duaringa, Qld) took home the champion bucking bull of the event buckle for the second consecutive week thanks to the supreme efforts of their massive Charbray, That’s Gold. The 900kg powerhouse made short work of high profile Aussie Brendon Clark, following on from his award-winning display in last week’s 2010 PBR Troy Dunn International where he demolished American Cody Campbell.
The 400 tonnes of dirt, 40 tonnes of steel fencing, 50 bulls, 20 riders and 30-man crew of the 2010 PBR World Challenge Series now moves south for the 2010 PBR World Challenge Final at Sydney’s Acer Arena on Saturday, June 5.
With the nation’s fiercest beasts and the world’s toughest athletes combined with the wall-to-wall exhilaration of a PBR show, the 2010 PBR World Challenge Series is one action-sports spectacular not to be missed.
