2010 PBR TROY DUNN INTERNATIONAL
TOWNSVILLE, QUEENSLAND
MAY 22, 2010
Aussie Champ Reigns Supreme at Townsvilles Troy Dunn International

Professional Bull Riders Australia 2009 champion David Kennedy tonight capped off a superb weekend taking out the 2010 PBR Troy Dunn International at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre.
In front of a crowd of around 4500 screaming fans, Kennedy wrapped up his first PBR Troy Dunn International buckle with a tough 87-point ride on Diamond J Rodeo Company’s Socceroo. With an event total of 264.5 points Kennedy just held out talented American Skeeter Kingsolver with 258.5 points and the celebration-dance king Ben Jones on 253.5.
“It’s a real honour to take home the buckle for the Troy Dunn International,” said a truly humbled David Kennedy. “Troy is a real inspiration to us all, so it’s a great feeling to come here to Townsville and beat these top internationals to win Troy’s event. Let’s hope the Aussies can keep it going in the next two shows.”
Diminutive Uralla bull rider Chris Lowe won the second night’s action with two hot rides. Twenty-five-year-old Lowe from the New England high country covered Kent Hansen’s Rubberband Man in the long round for a solid 86 points before backing up in the championship round with a spectacular 89.5 on Hansen’s massive speckled bull Radar.
“It’s great to get the money tonight and secure my slot for the next two events in Brisbane and Sydney,” enthused Lowe in his post event interview.
Stock contracting father and son team Trevor and Tony Dunne from Duaringa, Queensland picked up the event champion bucking bull for the supreme efforts of their massive white bull That’s Gold. Although huge in stature That’s Gold proved his amazing athleticism bucking off American Cody Campbell last night and backing up tonight by making incredibly short work of world top 40 ranked rider Caleb Sanderson.
The bull riding action of the 2010 PBR World Challenge Series now moves south for the 2010 PBR World Challenge at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday, May 29 and the 2010 PBR World Challenge Final at Sydney’s Acer Arena on Saturday, June 5.

With the nation’s fiercest beasts and the world’s toughest athletes combined with the wall-towall exhilaration of a PBR show, the 2010 PBR World Challenge Series is one action-sports spectacular not to be missed.
